Vic Mensa kicks off fall with “Summer’s Over” featuring Keyon Christ

Vic Mensa just shared a new song with producer Keyon Christ called “Summer’s Over” that makes us feel ready to rock this fall.

Mensa, who recently released the self-titled debut album for his punk project 93PUNX, told HYPEBEAST that the song is about the seasons changing.

“’Summer’s Over’ is really just a vibe to head into fall with. Keyon’s sonic landscape is so unique that even with a pretty straightforward lyrical direction it’s still going to sound like nothing you’ve ever heard before. We were really just having fun with it,” Mensa said in a statement.

He also said that Christ’s production is the “foundation for (his) next album,” so there’s plenty more of this to hear in the future.

“We’ve just been cooking non-stop,” Mensa said. “I think we connect creatively because neither of us is interesting in doing the same shit everyone else is doing. We’re trailblazers.”

As previously stated, Mensa and 93PUNX just dropped their first album featuring artists such as Good Charlotte, blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, Tom Morello and more. Barker also executive produced it.
