2020 definitely hasn’t gone according to plan for Marvel. The highly-anticipated Black Widow release has been pushed back several times, further delaying the arrival of Marvel Phase 4. As well, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier resumed filming this fall after initial plans to air on Disney+ in August didn’t happen.
Despite all of this, Marvel fans can breathe a slight sigh of relief because WandaVision officially has a release date. The new series will begin streaming on Disney+ starting Jan. 15, 2021.

WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Scarlet Witch and Vision. The series revolves around them settling into a sitcom-inspired domestic life following the traumatic events of Avengers: Endgame.
Although it may seem like they have a picture-perfect life, things definitely aren’t what they seem. This is especially true seeing as Vision was actually killed in Avengers: Infinity War. For now, most of the storylines in WandaVision have been kept under lock and key. However, it’s anticipated their squeaky clean life of domesticity won’t stay that way for long.
We do know that American Horror Story star Evan Peters is reportedly playing a “key role” in the Disney+ series. There’s speculation that he may step back into his role as Quicksilver a.k.a Pietro Maximoff and Wanda’s twin brother for WandaVision. This would be an interesting development seeing as MCU‘s Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) was killed off in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier was actually slated to be the first MCU series to debut on a streaming platform. However, seeing as filming for the show resumed this fall, it looks like WandaVision has made its way to the top of the lineup.
Fans first got a taste of WandaVision with the official trailer back in September. With the series finally arriving in January, hopefully this will keep Marvel fans satisfied until Black Widow arrives on May 7, 2021.
