Kevin Lyman gives sneak peek of first Warped Tour 25th anniversary gig

We’re less than 24 hours away from the first Warped Tour 25th anniversary show, and Kevin Lyman is offering up a sneak peek.

The festival founder is hard at work preparing for the first stop in Cleveland, and he’s sharing some information along the way.

Following his first look at the Atlantic City stop in May, Lyman is now doing the same for Cleveland.

Earlier this week, he reflected on the upcoming show, writing, “Looking forward to seeing many old friends in Cleveland this week and taking a walk down @VansWarpedTour memory lane as our exhibit opens @rockhall. Looks like the weather should be great for our party out front on Saturday!”

Yesterday, Lyman echoed the same sentiment, calling out some of the bands who will be playing.

In addition to the aforementioned acts—Simple Plan, We The Kings, Hawthorne Heights, Meg & Dia, Emery and Chali 2NA & Cut Chemist—2019 Tri-C HS Rock Off Winner Peter McPoland And The Haps will also perform.

The Slackers were also just added to the lineup recently, announcing their addition on May 31.

Amid all of the excitement, Lyman shared the first look at the stage set-up outside of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

“Starting to take shape for the @rockhall @VansWarpedTour 25th anniversary party!”

Lyman also shared a snap outside of the Rock Hall with Steven Van Doren, Vans’ CEO and son of the company’s co-founder Paul Van Doren.

More on Warped Tour

Cleveland’s date will have one stage for a one-day event outside of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. There will also be a mini skate ramp and a special exhibit titled “Forever Warped: 25 Years of Vans Warped Tour.”

The exhibit will begin the same day as the event, June 8. It will contain documents and history from its 1995 inception to its final cross-country run in 2018. There will be instruments from Fall Out Boy, No Doubt, Rancid and Reel Big Fish as well as stage clothing from Joan Jett and Ice-T.

AP recently chatted with Rock Hall Curator Amanda Pecsenye about the Forever Warped: 25 Years Of Vans Warped Tour exhibit.

“It’s really exciting to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the longest-running cross-country concert tour,” Pecsenye says. “Even though it’s wrapped up its cross-country run, it’s still wrapping up its legacy. But also, I think the exhibit is going to educate people that maybe were too young to attend a Warped Tour or be familiar with what it is.”

You can check that out here along with a behind-the-scenes look with Andy Black.

The Rock Hall will be streaming tomorrow’s Cleveland show with performances, interviews and more here beginning at 4 p.m. EST. You can also visit rockhall.com for more information on how they’re keeping the Warped vibes coming, post-shows.
