Today was the first day of Atlantic City’s Warped Tour stop, but the festival is being put on hold for the time being.

Warped Tour put a statement out telling fans to evacuate the venue at the closest exit and seek shelter.

The festival initially sent out an alert around 4 PM EST today warning fans to keep an eye on their socials as they expected severe weather.

Just a little over an hour later, they’re confirming the venue is being evacuated and attendees should exit to the closest shelter.

While it’s extremely unfortunate Warped Tour is being put off for the moment, severe weather has always been a problem for the fest.

A lot of people are cracking jokes about it not truly being Warped Tour without severe weather, but founder Kevin Lyman was expecting the opposite of rain.

The Atlantic City stop is being held on a beach so Lyman gave advice for people complaining about the heat.

“Had great meeting in Atlantic City, this is going to be a lot of fun. If it is hot you will be able to jump in for a swim, no more “oh it is so hot I am dying @VansWarpedTour.” Worked on map today and mainstage will go against the pier.”
