Warped Tour features more metalcore and screamo, less ska, according to new study

Ever since Warped Tour’s start back in 1995, there’s been an evolution in the music—and the genre of music—that has made an appearance at our favorite summer festival.

From skate punk to ska, see how the Warped Tour lineup has evolved over the years below!

Flash back to 1995, the original Warped Tour, which featured the likes of Deftones, Sublime, No Doubt and more. According to the graph, the earlier Warped Tour years were when genres like pop punk, rap metal and ska truly hit their peak.

In more recent years, we’ve seen the rise of screamo, metalcore and a relatively stable amount of pop punk and pop rock. (With pop punk seemingly maintaining a majority since the tour’s start.)
