Watch Good Old War create a song based on fans' tech-themed tweets

Pennsylvania folk-rock duo Good Old War were recently challenged by Mashable to write a song based on tweets from their fans. The theme: tech love story. Mashable visited with the band at lead vocalist Keith Goodwin's home as they started sorting through tweets, creating melodies and writing music; sometimes in the vein of Jack Johnson, sometimes Randy Newman. You can watch a behind-the-scenes video of the process below as the band's Twitter-inspired track comes to life.

Regarding the spirit needed to fuel this project in its process, Mashable makes note of a comment from Goodwin that could easily apply to GOW's entire body of work: “This whole thing is about connection. It's about getting on a human level.” Guitarist Dan Schwartz later adds, “It's hard to write by yourself. It can be easy to throw out ideas before they see the light of day. It's so much better when you have someone who can say 'that's good' or 'I hear where you're going.'”

This fall, Good Old War will hit the road with Kodaline for several dates across the U.S. and Canada. The full routing for the run can be found below. The band are continuing to support their newest album (their first as a duo following the departure of drummer Tim Arnold), Broken Into Better Shape, which can be purchased here.
