Watch the Replacements perform "Alex Chilton" on 'Fallon'

As we previously reported, famed rockers the Replacements returned to 30 Rockefeller Plaza last night for the first time since being banned from Saturday Night Live in 1986, to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

In their current incarnation, the group's lineup includes founding members Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson, along with guitarist David Minehan and drummer Josh Freese. Noticeably absent was Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, who has served as something of a fifth member at some recent live dates.

For their return to NBC, the 'Mats chose to perform classic track “Alex Chilton,” which appears on their 1987 fifth album, Pleased To Meet Me. Watch below:

Coincidentally, The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards also appeared on the program as a guest, and managed to pose for a photo with the band.
