Marvel unveils nostalgic ‘90s website for ‘Captain Marvel’

Marvel has recently launched a super fun ‘90s-esque website to promote forthcoming film Captain Marvel. Of course, Marvel’s latest marketing idea reflects the fact that the movie itself is based in 1995.

Luckily, the Captain Marvel website loads just as quickly as modern ones do today.

The website comes complete with Word art, pixelated graphics, bright colors and Windows pop-ups. Users can also watch the trailer, check out a message board, browse “multimedia,” and purchase movie tickets.

Additionally, Marvel added a game to the website where users have to decipher whether a photo depicts a human or a Skrull.

While some people are all about the throwback, others are a little confused. If you scroll down to the message board or “the guestbook,” someone on the team asks, “Who approved this?”

However, according to the Verge, a lot of people approved it. In fact, the website’s creator took to Twitter to share the process of making a ‘90s website in the late 2010s.

Captain Marvel comes to theaters March 8, 2019, and it will indeed include late Marvel legend Stan Lee in a cameo. You can watch the trailer for the film below.
