Could a Weezer, TLC collab happen?

Weezer surprise-dropped The Teal Album yesterday (Jan. 24), a collection of cover songs. The record has the already classic version of “Africa” by Toto, plus covers of Tears For Fears, Michael Jackson and… TLC (among many others).

Actually, the band’s take on “No Scrubs” got a positive reaction from TLC’s Chilli, and now we’re dying for a collab.

It all started on Twitter. The fan campaign #WeezerCoverAfrica somehow managed to actually get Weezer to cover “Africa” by Toto, and it was a huge success.

The band, of course, took the idea one step further and decided that a whole album of cover songs was a great idea—and honestly, who are we to disagree?

The Teal Album has a collection of 10 cover songs, but we want to focus on a specific one: “No Scrubs” by TLC. Why, you ask? Because it got the attention of the band.

Apparently, TLC’s Chilli approved of the new track, and she has a suggestion to make it even better.

“This cover by is AWESOME!!!” Chilli offers. “but it would be even better if we sang it with ya’ll!!!”

“I see a TLC Weezer concert coming up..lol” she continues.

WHOA! Could a Weezer and TLC collab become a reality? We mean, nothing seems impossible when we’re talking about Weezer.

The band saw the tweet and responded in the best way, giving us even more hope.

“Hope you want our number,” the L.A. rockers wrote.
