What We Do in the Shadows will be a hilarious mockumentary about a group of vampires who live together in a New York City apartment as a documentary crew follows the trio around, recording them as they try to get used to the fast-paced modern world. Per a report from Deadline, the vampire trio will have trouble with even the most mundane activities: paying the rent, keeping up with their assigned chores, sorting out roommate squabbles and getting into nightlubs.

The vampire clan consists of: Nandon (Kayvan Novak) the leader of the pack, Lazslo (Matt Berry) the class clown who can turn into a bat, Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) who keeps the boys in line and finally Nadjas (Harvey Guillen) who is Nadja's personal assistant.

According to Consequence Of Sound, Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi will be the duo producing the hilarious TV version of the vampire mockumentary, which we're sure will take jabs at vampire culture.

Clement will write and Waititi will direct, and they will both be executive directors.

The idea started off as a short-film under the same name, produced by Clement and Waititi in 2006. Soon after, the duo decided to expand the idea of the original film and turn it into a TV show. Of course, there will be changes from the film to the TV show. The original film took place in New Zealand, but the setting for the TV series will be moved to New York City.

What could be better than a bunch of vampires in NYC?

The series is slated to have 10 episodes and will premiere on FX during Spring 2019.
