Will the ‘True Blood’ reboot finally give fans the ending they wanted?
It’s only been six years since the last episode of True Blood aired. However, it looks like a reboot is already in the works at HBO.
According to new reports, Riverdale and Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is at the helm of the new project which is in early development.

It seems like 2020 has been full of nothing but reboot announcements. She’s All That, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Dexter and Saved By The Bell are just a few of the shows to announce spin-offs and revivals this year. Now, it looks like True Blood is another series to add to the seemingly ever-growing list.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, an official reboot of the vampire-filled show is in the works over at HBO. Although most details about the reboot are still unknown, we do know that Aguirre-Sacasa is at the helm of the project. As well, the original True Blood creator Alan Ball is back as an executive producer.
So far, it is unknown if any of the original cast members are returning for the HBO reboot. The Hollywood Reporter further says that Aguirre-Sacasa is set to write a pilot for the new version with Jami O’Brien (AMC‘s NOS4A2).

True Blood was based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris. It made its debuted on HBO back in 2008 and eventually ran for seven seasons. Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were the head stars of True Blood. Alexander Skarsgard, Sam Trammell and Rutina Wesley were among the other actors in the cast.
When the series came to an end back in 2014, the finale was met with mixed reviews from diehard fans. Along with surprise endings and weird conclusions for beloved characters, True Blood fans are still debating the show’s ending six years later. So, naturally, news of the reboot is earning even more mixed reviews.
So there’s a True Blood reboot? Unless Sookie and Eric get the ending they deserve…I probably won’t watch.

I don’t know if I’m for it or against it. The first few series of True Blood were amazing for but seriously went down in quality by the end. But this peaks my interest ??? https://t.co/yFuUewNHJx

Why do we need a reboot of #TrueBlood? Aren’t there other stories that deserve a chance? Sookie, Jason, Eric Northman, Lafayette and Vampire Bill had their time in the sun. Let creators create rather than rehash. https://t.co/axsGkBx6tF

Apparently #TrueBlood is being rebooted and, at first I was ??♀️ and then was overcome by this electric hope that this incarnation will be faithful to the books. Count me in.

also, lbr, True blood got SO bad. like, I loved it, but it was SO BAD. As was the ending of the books! I’m excited to see if someone can take the same premise and make something really good.

Hopefully the True Blood reboot has a better ending than the original… and perhaps sticks closer to the books the series is based on (although I did like a lot of the changes they made in the first series). https://t.co/W45XJcrteG
