Woodstock 50, L.L.C. claimed that the company violated their agreement by doing so. Now, according to court documents, Woodstock partially won the case.

The judge ruled that Dentsu did not have the right to announce the festival’s cancellation, so it is allowed to continue.

However, Woodstock 50 “has not met the high burden entitling it to a mandatory injunction.” This means that Dentsu will not have to return $17.8 million to the festival. Previously, the festival heads claimed that money was taken by the investors.

“We have always relied on the truth and have never lost faith that the festival would take place,” co-founder Michael Lang said in a statement. “I would like to thank all of the talent and their representatives for their patience and support. Woodstock 50 will be an amazing and inspiring festival experience.”

Gregory Peck, Lang’s partner, also issued a statement on the ruling.

“Woodstock 50 is on!” he said. “We can’t wait to bring this important event to the public this summer. We have one of the greatest lineups of talent of any music festival, and we are grateful to all of the talent for their loyalty and support.”

Speaking of the lineup, the headliners for Woodstock 50 include Halsey, the Killers, Jay-Z, Chance The Rapper and Miley Cyrus. The Black Keys were also set to headline but dropped out.

Woodstock’s 50th anniversary festival will to welcome Woodstock-era staples such as Dead & Company, Santana, John Fogerty and Robert Plant And The Sensational Shape Shifters. Additionally, other bands that will definitely ring a bell to scene enthusiasts include Fever 333, Bishop Briggs, grandson and boygenius.

When the festival was announced, it received major backlash or their recent shift in genre. Additionally, many folks believe the festival has strayed from its roots and become a cash-grab of sorts.

The festival is set to take place on the 50th anniversary of the classic Woodstock. You can check out the full lineup for the festival here.

Since the chaos surrounding the festival has ensued, it’s confused many, even John Mayer, who was announced as part of the lineup with Dead & Company, apparently has no idea if he’ll be performing at the show.
