Woodstock 50 investor allegedly sabotaged event according to co-founder
Woodstock 50 has sent the heads of attendees for a spin over the last few weeks after rumors of its cancellation surfaced from investment company Dentsu, only to be denied by the festival’s co-founder Michael Lang a short while later.
Now, according to TMZ, Lang is claiming Dentsu tried to sabotage the festival’s revival.

After the festival was allegedly canceled by investors, the Woodstock co-founder pushed back against the claims stating that the investor did “not have the right to unilaterally cancel the festival.”
Now, in a letter sent to Dentsu President and CEO and allegedly obtained by TMZ, Lang reveals he had concerns from the very beginning about a large company coming on board with Woodstock’s revival.
Lang claims Dentsu blocked ticket sales back in April, began interfering with the talent lineup, and reportedly went as far as to tell acts that if they backed out of the festival, Dentsu would help them land a gig at the 2020 Summer Olympics instead.
The co-founder also believes Dentsu was pocketing the festival’s money claiming they “illegally swept approximately $17 million from the festival bank account leaving the festival in peril.”
However, despite the rollercoaster Woodstock 50 has experienced over the last few weeks, Lang has continued to thank fans for their support and states the festival will continue.

To deliver a world-class, once-in-a-lifetime festival to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock.
