Yellowcard's Ryan Key and the Starting Line's Kenny Vasoli are set to DJ their own Emo Nights

In January of this year, Emo Night Brooklyn became a safe haven for the saddest residents in all of Brooklyn. “Even though ‘emo’ has the connotation of being sad, Emo Night Brooklyn is a happy, magical place,” says ENB founder Alex Badanes. “You walk in and time travel back to the mid-2000s, hear the songs that mean so much to you and sing along with 800+ of your new best friends who also know every single word.”

Over the course of 2015, ENB saw exponential growth, so much so that they are expanding to Las Vegas for an event hosted by Yellowcard’s Ryan Key.

“I think the coolest part of this happening everywhere is knowing our band was a part of something,” shares Key. “So many bands came together at a moment in time and created a scene that people are still drawn to.”

“I think my favorite thing about being a part of Emo Night in Brooklyn was seeing so many people celebrate with this style of music in 2015. It had the atmosphere of a Yellowcard show. It was awesome,” adds Yellowcard violinist Sean Mackin. “I think what makes Emo Night such a cool experience is it gives people that grew up fans of this genre of music a place to go out and cut loose as adults. Having the opportunity to go out with friends and not have to go to a crazy club with silly bass playing, that is pretty cool.”

Key will DJ at the Brooklyn Bowl’s Las Vegas club on Saturday, November 21. (Tickets are on sale now.)

Additionally, the Starting Line’s Kenny Vasoli is set to host ENB’s November 13 even at Brooklyn Bowl in New York.

“Honestly, If you had told me a year ago when we were planning our first party that Kenny Vasoli would eventually DJ and it would get as big as it is now, there’s no way I would have believed you,” adds Badanes. “This party has exceeded my expectations by far again and again. Moving forward, I just want to keep the party and the music going. If we get even bigger that would be awesome, if it goes back to just me and my friends in my apartment, that’s cool too!”

Past ENB DJs include members of Acceptance, Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday, the Color Fred, Say Anything, Terrible Things), Marko DeSantis (Sugarcult) and Steven Smith of Fuse's Steven's Untitled Rock Show.
