Sure, we pretty much knew season three would be coming after star Penn Badgley let it slip in an interview. But now we know for sure, and Badgley and Victoria Pedretti, who plays Love Quinn are returning.
Badgley accidentally let the news slip about a third season while doing an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
Well, after some exciting spinoff theories and a bunch of anticipation given the amazing ending of the second season, we finally have official confirmation. The show took to Twitter to announce the news in a haunting tweet.
See you soon, neighbor. YOU S3 is coming. pic.twitter.com/rCJx7K9v0P

“See you soon, neighbor,” seems to be a reference to the ending of season two. No spoilers though, so you’ll have to watch the show to understand the tweet further.
According to E! News, we also have confirmation that Badgley and Perretti are returning for the new season.
In an interview with EW, producer Sera Gamble discusses the ending and what that might mean for the upcoming season.
“The stakes are pretty high. I have so many questions about Love’s mother who’s incredibly in the picture at the end of the season, like how much she really knows about her children,” Gamble says.
“We wrote [the finale] hoping that we will get the opportunity to tell more story because we’re really excited with the seeds planted at the end of season two.”
Just like the first two seasons, the third is expected to have plenty of surprises and yes, more cliffhangers. A character introduced in season two, Ellie, (played by Jenna Ortega) recently spoke with People about what she expects for the third season.
“The writers are so good at throwing in twists and turns,” Ortega says. “If I were to come back, I don’t know if I would come back initially, in the first couple episodes … I want Ellie to pressure Joe and stress him out a little bit because he is such a terrible person! As much as people love him, he deserves that pressure, he deserves to feel in trouble.”
People are loving the You news on Twitter. They are also making jokes, of course. Check out some reactions below.
