YUNGBLUD launches contest for campus show, music industry Q&A

YUNGBLUD will give lucky one student body the opportunity to see him perform at their school as part of his latest competition in partnership with Chegg.

As part of the educational technology company’s Chegg Music 101 initiative, students can vote to bring the “Hope For The Underrated Youth” artist to their high school or college.

Aside from the gig, the winning school will also receive a $10,000 grant for their music department, formally called the David B. Goldberg Music Grant.

If that wasn’t enough, YUNGBLUD will also be hosting an exclusive Q&A about his creer, the industry and more during his visit.

Before YUNGBLUD, previous artists who have participated in Chegg Music  101 include Liam Payne, Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran and more.

“Through his music, YUNGBLUD gives a voice to many of these issues that young people around the world are experiencing, and we are thrilled to partner with an artist who cares deeply for his generation and wants to create positive change in the world through art,” Chegg’s chief communications officer Heather Hatlo Porter said about picking the musician this year.

YUNGBLUD also gave a statement about why he wanted to participate in the event to have a positive impact on students working toward their education.

“I write music to paint a pretty honest picture of what young people are genuinely concerned about today – from mental health and sexual harassment to gun violence. These are issues that Chegg knows all too well,” he said. “Given this shared concern and Chegg’s passion to positively impact students, I was keen to participate and I’m looking forward to performing at the winning school!”

He announced the opportunity on Instagram, and explained in his Stories how students can go vote for their school to be selected.

If you needed even more incentive to vote for him to hit up your campus, you need to check out his recent BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge debut set.

During the performance, he created an incredible melody of Amy Winehouse, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes and Travis Scott

He started with a passionate version of the Scott’s track “Goosebumps” accompanied by string instruments. YUNGBLUD then seamlessly transitions into “Back To Black” by Winehouse. After that, he finishes by performing the chart-topping track “Senorita” by Mendes and Cabello. It’s an absolute sight to behold, and you can see it down below.

He also performed his latest track “Hope For The Underrated Youth” at the gig. You can see the listen to that track below.
