YUNGBLUD shows “Hope For The Underrated Youth” with boat gig video
YUNGBLUD just dropped a video for “Hope For The Underrated Youth” that pays homage to what the song is about — his fans.
The song dropped after the musician tortured fans with a bunch of teasing and a huge premiere.

It all started when YUNGBLUD invited his London fans to a “mental surprise” taking place on a boat.
During the event, the words “There’s Hope For The Underrated Youth” were projected onto the UK parliament building.

Then, the song premiered, and he gave us some more insight on the meaning behind it. First, you can listen to it below.
“The world right now tells us fall in line,” YUNGBLUD says of the track. “It tells us what you’re allowed to care about, think about, even to the point what air you should fucking breathe. Things are changing drastically, a lot of the time not for the better and it’s hard to watch.
I meet so many young people every day and the one common denominator I find is the constant fire to defy apathy and the optimism to do anything in your power to fight for a better, more equal world. This song is about freedom of speech. (The) song is about freedom of expression. This song is about the forward-thinking, racism hating, LGBTQ+, liberal ‘sinners’ that we all are. I see that there is hope for this ‘Underrated Youth’ and I believe the future looks bright because we are in it.”
The video shows YUNGBLUD partying with his fans during the boat show and displays the passionate relationship he has with them.

Machine Gun Kelly and YUNGBLUD performed on the Late Late Show with James Corden last week and dedicated “I Think I’m Okay” to the victims of mass shootings.
The day of the set was also YUNGBLUD’s birthday and MGK announced earlier in the day that they’d be doing the performance.
“Goin on tv tonight for the youth and my friends bday,” MGK captioned a photo with YUNGBLUD.
Then, they went on the show and performed on Monday. This was after two mass shootings occurred within hours of each other in the U.S. First, 20 people were killed and more than two dozen were injured at another shooting in a shopping center in El Paso, Texas on Saturday. Then, early Sunday, a gunman shot and killed at least nine people and injured more than 27 others in a nightlife district in Dayton, Ohio.
At the end of their set, they wrote “Dayton” and “El Paso” on the back of both guitars. You can see the full performance below.
