YUNGBLUD stokes Post Malone collab possibility with album details

YUNGBLUD has been preparing to release his second, full-length album, following his debut, 21st Century Liability. Already, there has been speculation as to whom will be featured on the sophomore record, possibly Post Malone.

In an interview with MusicFeeds.com, when asked about the record and any big collabs on the album, YUNGBLUD said, “There is a mental one coming at the start of next year. I can’t say who it is yet but he is such a visionary artist. So fucking sick and he is a bridge between hip hop and rock and roll.”

Naturally, we know Malone has a love for both hip-hop and rock. Just this week, Malone was caught screaming along to Pantera’s Walk in an impromptu performance during some karaoke at a local bar.

The video was captured by New York-based band, Beach Fossil, which you can check out below.

It makes a lot of sense for Malone to be the collab YUNGBLUD is referring to. When asked if Malone could be the feature, YUNGBLUD simply said, “I can’t say but I’m glad you’re curious, you’ll just have to wait til 2020.”

Nevertheless, there is another potential candidate for the feature. Both Machine Gun Kelly and YUNGBLUD worked together already, with some help from Travis Barker on “I Think I’m OKAY.” The three hit the studio again back in November, sparking a cause of speculation. While the trio worked in the studio for Kelly’s new pop-punk fueled album that he is working on with Barker, that’s not to say another collab couldn’t be in the works. Kelly also mentions he is hoping to get Fronz from Attila and Bert McCracken from The Used.

It’s safe to say that either one fits the description as both Kelly and Malone seamlessly transcend between hip-hop and rock with ease.

More On Yungblud

In an interview with the newspaper The Sun, YUNGBLUD discusses a song on the new record titled “Mars.” The track, he says, was influenced by David Bowie’s 1971 hit “Life on Mars?”

“There’s a song called ‘Mars’ which is important to me ’cause I had a trans man come up to me and say my track ‘Kill Somebody’ last year helped his parents with the community he wanted to be in,” YUNGBLUD said in The Sun. “He told me about his story, about how nobody understood him, and it clicked with me because it reminded me of ‘Life On Mars’ by David Bowie –  so I’m paying homage to that.”

When YUNGBLUD talked with us to discuss his EP the underrated youth in October, the EP created a world. The new album, however, will be an entire “fucking universe.”
