'Zombieland 2' adds another actor to the cast

A sequel to 2009’s zombie-filled flick Zombieland is officially in the works, and with the original cast on board, it appears that the production team behind the flick are adding more faces to the cast.

As reported by comicbook.com, Zoey Deutch will be joining the cast as Jesse Eisenberg’s love interest.

In addition to the newly announced Deutch, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin have all signed on to reprise their roles from the original film.

Additionally, Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are also returning to the production in order to pen the sequel’s script.

As it stands, the film is set to begin its production sometime in January of 2019 and it currently has a release date of October 2019.

Read the synopsis for the upcoming Zombie flick below:

Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”

While we’re stoked on the upcoming film, there have been questions about how the film will be made, especially with the needed time jump.

As you may recall, Abigail Breslin’s Little Rock was just a preteen in the first Zombieland movie, so, the writers decided to go around that little continuity error by changing the time.

“Abigail Breslin is 9 years older than she was in Z1, so it won’t be happening directly after! Can’t say beyond that!” they shared during a Reddit AMA.
