After seven years, it appears we will finally have a follow-up to one of our favorite zombie-comedy flicks, Zombieland.

Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, also credited for the recent superhero hit Deadpool, confirmed the sequel on AMC's Geeking Out.

According to ComicBook.com, Wernick and Reese said, “that is breaking news that we're on Zombieland 2 right now.”

“We're sitting with Woody [Harrelson] tomorrow and are going to sort of walk him through some of the stuff we want to do,” they also mentioned.

Harrelson starred with Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin in the original 2009 film. On the actors Wernick and Reese said, “all the cast is pretty excited.”

Zombieland 2 has went through many iterations—at one point it was scheduled to be a comedy TV series which had a pilot on Amazon but then subsequently died in 2013, at another it was a sequel because Sony wanted it to be back in 2014, then it was a sequel without a cast earlier this year, and at yet another point it was apparently confirmed at CinemaCon in April with a logo.

Another interesting tidbit, the writers mentioned how they got Bill Murray to play his iconic role in the first Zombieland, going through numerous actors before they could get one to work. Watch:
