Nick Jonas embraces inner emo with Fall Out Boy, P!ATD sing-along
The Jonas Brothers continue to prove their scene cred, from the infamous My Chemical Romance reunion murmurs, jamming to All Time Low, blink-182 memes and throwing down at an MxPx show—just to name a few. Now, Nick Jonas is adding to that ever-growing list by covering Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
However, Nick’s love of FOB and P!ATD stretches even further back than his ability to successfully sing “Sugar, We’re Going Down” and “High Hopes.” A few years back, FOB bassist Pete Wentz revealed the musician was nearly arrested at a 2005 gig while taking his insulin as security mistook it for drugs.

Now, Nick is embracing his inner emo by taking that love to a game with Jimmy Fallon. The duo teamed up for “Slay It, Don’t Spray It” on Tuesday’s episode. The concept is pretty simple: Both celebrities are prompted with cue cards for a portion of a song and then fill in the final blank by memory. If the lyrics are wrong, you get sprayed. If you’re right, your opponent gets sprayed.
Nick kicked things off with Katy Perry’s classic “I Kissed A Girl” as Fallon takes on Train’s “Drops Of Jupiter.”

Nick lands on the FOB track next, as Fallon excitedly says, “I know that, I know that, of course, Fall Out Boy are my dudes.” The Jonas brother runs with his best Patrick Stump impersonation as Fallon mouths along beside him.
Fallon takes on the JoBros’ “Sucker” next before the duo team up on Panic!’s “High Hopes.”
“I don’t know if I got this one, dude. I feel real bad because I think I’m going to ruin it for both of us—I love Panic! At The Disco.”

Back in 2005, Fall Out Boy set out on the Nintendo Fusion tour with Motion City Soundtrack, the Starting Line, Boys Night Out and Panic! At The Disco.
The New Jersey natives and the then rising Radio Disney pop-rock act the Jonas Brothers attended the Nov. 23 stop at the Ritacco Center (now RWJBarnabas Health Arena) in Toms River, New Jersey.

The venue, which is attached to Toms River North High School, had heightened security to control the sold-out show. But of the 3,000 fans in attendance, 13-year-old Nick Jonas ended up being an unlikely suspect of illegal activity.
“Nick Jonas is a diabetic… He was giving himself insulin and security in the bathroom freaked out and were trying to arrest him for doing drugs!” Wentz dished in a Billboard interview.

Checking his blood sugar and getting insulin was a new routine for Jonas, as he had just been hospitalized for, and diagnosed with, Type 1 diabetes a few weeks before the gig. His diagnosis also came right before a bunch of crucial tri-state area club-circuit gigs for the Jonas Brothers, who were working on and promoting their debut solo album It’s About Time for Columbia Records.
Although Jonas has never spoken publicly about his Nintendo Fusion tour experience, Wentz says the two reminisced about it at a Jingle Ball event a few years back.
