Nicolas Cage to star in satirical comedy about Osama bin Laden

Nicolas Cage has been tapped by Borat and The Dictator director Larry Charles to star in an upcoming satirical comedy about Osama bin Laden.

As reported by Consequence Of Sound, the film, titled Army Of One, is based around a GQ-famous article that tells the tale of Colorado-native Gary Faulkner's attempt to locate and capture Osama bin Laden. GQ's report claims Faulkner—a construction worker—traveled to Pakistan 11 times with unparalleled ambition to find the al-Qaeda founder, with a sword, dagger, pistol, and night-vision equipment being among the items he brought along with him.

Despite Faulkner being quoted saying, “I think Osama is responsible for bloodshed in the world, and I want to kill him,” the piece later claims that he “never planned to kill Osama bin Laden but rather to capture him and deliver him to the Pakistani authorities.”

Filming for Army Of One is set to begin in March, with a release tentatively planned for before the end of 2015.
