‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ tribute to feature Danny Elfman
The claymation will move from the screen onto the stage this fall for its third live rendition. Reprising his role as Jack Skellington, Danny Elfman will perform at The Hollywood Bowl in a 25th-anniversary tribute to The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Elfman will be joined by fellow Nightmare Before Christmas co-stars Catherine O’Hara as Sally and Ken Page as Oogie Boogie. The legendary cast will be backed by a full orchestra, directed by founding Hollywood Bowl conductor John Maurceri.

The tribute was staged in 2015 and 2016, selling out both years. This year, the event is said to be “fully immersive.” The Nightmare Before Christmas tribute will fittingly be Halloween-themed and fans are encouraged to dress in their best costumes. The event will also feature trick-or-treating stations and a costume contest.
“For this 25th-anniversary celebration I am directing the creation of animated digital projections for the proscenium of the Hollywood Bowl’s shell inspired by Tim Burton’s visuals,” co-producer Richard Kraft told Chicago Tribune. “It will make the whole experience extremely immersive.”

The Nightmare Before Christmas follows the story of the curious pumpkin king, Jack Skellington who stumbles upon a portal to a Christmas-themed utopia. Being bored with Halloween 24/7, Skellington attempts to bring Christmas cheer to his ghoulish hometown. Check out the trailer below.
