Noah Centineo in talks to play superhero in movie reboot
After his big break on Netflix original To All The Boys I Loved Before, Noah Centineo quickly became an internet heartthrob. He’s set to star in several more romantic comedies, but it looks like he’ll be taking on a different genre.
According to The Wrap, Centineo is in talks to be the star of Sony Pictures and Mattel Films’ reboot of Masters Of The Universe. Centineo would be starring as the lead protagonist, He-Man.

The movie will be based on Mattel’s successful toy line and animated series from the ’80s. It was later adapted into an animated film, He-Man And She-Ra: The Secret Of The Sword, and then a live-action film.
Masters Of The Universe originally follows the story of Prince Adam who uses the powers of a magical sword to turn into the warrior He-Man. With the help of his fellow heroes Man-At-Arms, Orko and The Sorceress, he must protect his kingdom from the evil Skeletor who seeks to take control of the source of He-Man’s power, Castle Grayskull.
Centineo is best known for his role as Peter Kavinsky in To All The Boys I Loved Before. Since then, he’s scored roles in the Charlie’s Angels reboot, which will be released this later this year. He’ll also star in another Netflix film, The Perfect Date, which has him starring opposite Riverdale actress Camila Mendes. It was also recently revealed that To All The Boys I Loved Before is getting a sequel.
In an interview with People, Noah says that while he enjoyed having roles in rom-coms, it’s not something he always wants to do.
“I want to keep doing those,” he says. “But I want to branch out and risk and do other things, too.”
Some of the “other things” Centineo has done don’t just fall into genre-related ventures as he branched out into music. He directed a music video for ARTY’s “Save Me Tonight” and starred as a trippy bartender in Wallows’ “Are You Bored Yet?”
As for Masters Of The Universe, the film was originally announced through Variety in April last year.

It’s set to be directed by Aaron and Adam Nee and written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, who also wrote the screenplay for Marvel’s Iron Man.
Producers will include Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch and DeVon Franklin.
