Nova Twins ended up collaborating with BMTH in an unexpected way
Just over a month ago, Bring Me The Horizon unveiled their highly-anticipated new EP POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR. The release includes collabs with YUNGBLUD on “Obey,” BABYMETAL, Evanescence‘s Amy Lee and Nova Twins.
Now, Nova Twins have revealed the unexpected way their collab with BMTH on “1×1” came to be.

Bring Me The Horizon’s new EP POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR marked a number of firsts for the band. In particular, their collaborations with YUNGBLUD, Amy Lee, BABYMETAL and Nova Twins were their first-ever with those artists.
Shortly after the release of the EP, BMTH revealed that their collab with Amy Lee happened after an unexpected chain of events. As well, last week, Oli Sykes explained that their work with BABYMETAL on “Kingslayer” was actually years in the making.
Now, Nova Twins have opened up on how their collab with Bring Me The Horizon happened. In a new interview with Kerrang!, the duo reveals that an Instagram DM from Sykes started it all.

Nova Twins are currently signed to FEVER 333 frontman Jason Aalon Butler‘s Wreckords label. Butler eventually heard that Jordan Fish and Sykes were interested in collaborating with Nova Twins on POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR.
“Jason gave us the heads-up that Oli and Jordan were interested in talking to us,” Amy Love says. “The next day we got an inbox from Oli saying, ‘Got a song for you guys, I’ve been listening to you guys on Spotify and I really like your stuff’ and he send us the song as a DM!”
After a few exchanges, Sykes sent the duo a Dropbox link to “1×1” through Instagram.
“We listened to it, and we loved the song,” Amy continues. “It had that nostalgic feel about it, while sounding very modern at the same time. We loved the concept. It resonated with us.”

Due to Bring Me The Horizon’s deadlines, Nova Twins had one week to add their parts to the song. In the end, they were able to write and record everything in just two days.
“They were on a really tight deadline because they needed it done a week after we’d got it, so the song was there and they said they wanted a few weird sounds, so I added a few weird bass noises on there,” Georgia South says. “We turned it around in two days because they needed it quickly.”
Even though POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR was released just under a month ago, BMTH have even more music on the way. This latest EP is the first of four releases Bring Me The Horizon are putting out under the umbrella name POST HUMAN. At this time, they have not confirmed when the next installment of the anthology is arriving.

Back in August, Jordan Fish shared that BMTH have plenty of more collaborations in store for the POST HUMAN project. For the multi-release, they hope to bring in even more artists for some unexpected collaborations.
“I think we might kinda like theme our guests a bit more around what’s going on with each EP,” Fish said. “When we get into the other EPs, it’ll give us a chance to maybe get some other people on who are a bit more left-field or a bit more out of the box for our band.”
