Of Mice & Men song once censored for misheard lyrics by BBC
Of Mice & Men vocalist Aaron Pauley recently shared a hilarious anecdote about their song “Would You Still Be There.” Apparently, the song was censored by the BBC all thanks to some misheard lyrics.
Of course, the line in the song in question reads, “If I could find the words, if I could shake the world.” However, the BBC misheard the lyrics as “shit the world.”

“I remembered when BBC censored ‘Would You Still Be There’ because they thought I was saying, ‘If I could find the words, If I could shit the world,’” Pauley recalls in a tweet.

Additionally, guitarist Alan Ashby interacted with the tweet, saying, “That’s not the lyrics?????”

To make matters even funnier, Pauley responded, saying that’s now how he sings the song live.
They definitely have been since that incident. Sometimes I just say “effa-cuffa-thwoods” into the mic.

However, it looks like the BBC weren’t the only ones who misheard the song. Additionally, it appears as though there may be a few spots that were once up for interpretation.
I honestly thought the lyrics at one point was, “fuck the words”, sooooo……… lmao
