Of Mice & Men’s new album, Cold World, is out today on Rise Records. The LP is yet another step away from the modern metalcore tendencies of their first two albums, and as with any change in sound, the response has been somewhat divided.

Frontman Austin Carlile, however, had some fun with Cold World’s mixed reactions on Rise Records’ recent Instagram post (see full post here) promoting the record:

Cold World sees Of Mice & Men sailing into seas they had left unchartered on previous albums. While “Pain,” “The Lie” and “Contagious” stay true to the band's heavy roots, tracks like “Real,” “Down The Road” and “Away” feature little-to-no screaming.

If nothing else, it’s a different experience for fans. What do you think of the record? Leave us a comment with your thoughts.
