The lead singer took to Twitter to further elaborate the meaning behind one of the tracks, “i don’t know what to say.”

“This song is for my friend, Aidan, who sadly lost his battle to cancer & also for anyone who has gone through this hell, don’t you think it’s incredible how brave, strong, and fearless people can become when dealt with such a soul crushing fate?” Sykes wrote on Twitter.

The singer’s touching tribute was met with a slew of supportive replies.

Amo is English act’s sixth full-length album that’s taken a more pop approach.

Last week, BMTH dropped the Grimes-featuring “nihilist blues.” It was preceded by amojams “mother tongue,” “medicine,” “wonderful life” (featuring Cradle Of Filth‘s Dani Filth) and the album’s cult-inspired first single, “MANTRA.”
