Over 900 classic arcade games made available for browser play

If you were planning having a productive week at work/school, you may want to reconsider: The Internet Archive has created a massive online arcade—“the Internet Arcade”— that lets you play around 900 classic arcade games right in your browser.

There are so many bizarre, awesome-sounding titles worth giving a shot: Bio Attack, Atomic Boy, Alpha Mission, Cheeky Mouse, Burger Time, Goalie Ghost, Jump Bug, Super Tank—the list goes on and on.

According to PC World, last year, the Internet Archive also added a section called the Console Living Room, which includes games from systems like the Atari and Sega Genesis.

Project head Jason Scott writes:

“Obviously, a lot of people are going to migrate to games they recognize and ones that they may not have played in years. They’ll do a few rounds, probably get their asses kicked, smile, and go back to their news sites. A few more, I hope, will go towards games they’ve never heard of, with rules they have to suss out, and maybe more people will play some of these arcades in the coming months than the games ever saw in their “real” lifetimes.”

Go check out some arcade games that you’ve never played here.
