P.O.D. want peace of mind in new song—listen

P.O.D. are gearing up to release Circles, their first album since 2015. As if you need any other reason to get pumped about the new album, they’re premiering a new song exclusively with AP.

Check out “Listening For The Silence,” the third single off the upcoming album. The new song features a building melody which collapses into an intense chorus.

The new song includes powerful lyrics describing paranoia, with frontman Sonny Sandoval singing about being afraid of his state of mind.

“This song is about the voices we battle in our heads as well as the perfect communication I find in your unspoken words,” Sandoval says. “In all of the madness, confusion and chaos, I find peace in the silence. We should all practice the art of silence from time to time.”

Circles is P.O.D.’s first release with Mascot Records. With the new record comes a newer sound, featuring rapping verses as well as piano chords. P.O.D. aim to create a modern sound while staying true to their roots.

“On Circles, we didn’t limit ourselves and say, ‘Hey, we need to please the metal crowd, or the hardcore crowd, or the punk crowd,” Sandoval says. “We just wanted to play and write songs that we hope are relevant and catchy to a new audience while, at the same time, still being true to ourselves.”

Circles is P.O.D.’s first album since 2015’s The Awakening. The band previously released “Soundboy Killa” last year and the title track last month, both of which will appear on Circles.

Their new album is out Nov. 16 via Mascot Records and is available for preorder now. The band will also be touring with 10 Years this fall. Check out the dates and new track below.
