Palaye Royale play free acoustic show following concert cancellation
After flooding canceled Palaye Royale’s show in Vancouver, the band decided to take things outside for an acoustic, stripped-down session on the venue’s sidewalk.

The flooding had apparently affected the basement of the Rickshaw Theater, forcing the venue to cancel the show once the band arrived for soundcheck. While fans got a refund for the show, Palaye Royale still decided to play a free, public show in the rain.
Haha We didn’t cancel the show the venues basement flooded and the venue canceled the show we arrived for soundcheck.
We performed outside in the rain for free and everyone got refunded their money for the show.

Palaye Royale then took to Twitter earlier this evening to share a short video of their efforts.
“We are here at the Rickshaw Theater,” frontman Remington Leith says. “They flooded the venue — not on purpose — so we decided to take things outside to these people.”
After gesturing to the crowd outside, the band decided to play some acoustic renditions of their songs. In the video, the band can be heard playing “Teenage Heartbreak Queen.” You can watch the video below.
Yesterday when we arrived at the Rickshaw Theater in Vancouver they told us the show was canceled due to flooding.

Of course, fans are responding well to the band’s decision to play outside.
