Palaye Royale‘s Remington Leith was recently interviewed by Rocksound where he talked about the band’s dedicated fanbase and their image, which apparently harkens back to My Chemical Romance.

Palaye Royale’s easily recognized theatrical image plays a large role in their band. Leith explains that there is soemthing about the way music and image work together that have made huge bands, like My Chemical Romance, have such an impact. “I do miss the times when people from bands would be walking down the street and you’d immediately know they were in a band; when music and image used to go hand-in-hand,” Leith explains.

“My Chemical Romance did it so well, they were one of the last bands to really be the part. I’ve always really admired that and our goal is to bring it back, we want this to be more than a band, we want it to be a lifestyle—we want to be superheroes!”

Leith also talks about how their dedicated fans, the ‘Royal Council,’ who play off the band’s image with fan art. “We’ve just finished our first headline tour and a fan drew cartoon versions of us so we used them for the tour poster, another made us this really cool silhouette image so we made that into a t-shirt. It’s a huge part of how we operate.”

Of course, Palaye Royale don’t intend to let their image overshadow the music. They are about to set off on tour with Crown The Empire and I See Stars. Check out the dates below!
