Pale Waves

Hear Pale Waves' new take on the classic "Last Christmas"

English indie-poppers Pale Waves ring in the holidays with a seasonal Spotify single sporting a cover of classic Yuletide tearjerker “Last Christmas” from George Michael‘s ’80s Wham! outfit. Hear the band’s twist on the tune, below.

The spirited cover song divining the winter solstice marks the Manchester, England-based act’s first new release since this fall’s debut full-length effort from the “One More Time” songsters, My Mind Makes Noises, as noted by the NME.

And, of course, this isn’t the first time a popular indie group has tackled Wham’s 1984 slice of holiday magic. Alt-rock fans may remember Jimmy Eat World‘s crack at the old chestnut, not to mention myriad other stabs at the song.
