Panic! At The Disco hit another huge milestone with "High Hopes"

Panic! At The Disco are dominating the charts right now. “High Hopes” is on the Alternative Songs and Adult Pop Songs, as well as on the Billboard Hot 100.

This is a great achievement for a number of reasons.

“High Hopes” has recently been certified platinum by the RIAA. Plus, the band’s 2016 album, Death of a Bachelor, received a Gold certification.

That’s added to the fact that last month, Panic! At The Disco earned their second Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 spot with the song. “High Hopes” jumped from No. 12 to No. 8 for the week ending Nov. 24. The achievement marked the second time the band have hit Top 10 status as “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” peaked at No. 7 on the chart ending Aug. 26, 2006.

But it didn’t stop there. The track kept climbing the Billboard charts, becoming their highest-charting song to date. For the week ending on Dec. 1,  “High Hopes” jumped from No. 8 to No. 6. The song is currently No. 5 on the Hot 100.

Now, Billboard is sharing some other achievements from Brendon Urie & co. “High Hopes” is leading the Alternative Songs and Adult Pop Songs.

This is only the fourth time that a song leads two airplay charts simultaneously since the Adult Pop Songs list was created in 1996.

Before Panic! and “High Hopes,” Gotye and Goo Goo Dolls did that with “Somebody That I Used to Know” and “Iris,” respectively. Plus, Green Day topped the tallies in 2005 with “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.”
