Panic! At The Disco use special trumpet to raise gun violence awareness

Panic! At The Disco are not carrying just any normal trumpet with them on their Pray For The Wicked tour. Chris Bautista, the trumpet player in P!ATD, is using a special “Instrument of Hope” made from discarded bullet casings to help spread awareness and put an end to gun violence.

The trumpet is part of the Instrument of Hope by Shine MSD, AKA the “proud students of Stoneman Douglas High School.”

The instrument itself is made from discarded bullet casings by Josh Landress in conjunction with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas/Parkland shooting survivors

Instrument of Hope is aiming at “keeping the gun violence conversation on the main stage.”

They’ve created a trumpet that is the very first of its kind and hope to use it to achieve that goal, by turning an instrument of violence into an instrument of hope.

Artists are allowed to request the instrument by emailing Instrument of Hope at their website.

That very first band was our beloved Panic! At The Disco.

“It was an honor to have @_cbradio play the Instrument of Hope out on tour,” Panic! At The Disco writes on Instagram. “The trumpet is made out of discarded bullet casings by Josh Landress in conjunction with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas/Parkland shooting survivors. Musicians, help spread the message to end gun violence. If any other artists want to take the trumpet out on tour, request it at instrumentofhope.org”

Shine MSD shared P!ATD’s post adding, “What legends to be the first to step up to play the #InstrumentofHope@hopeonstage. We are so grateful for you helping to keep the gun violence conversation on the main stage.”

Artists wishing to bring the Instrument of Hope with them on tour can email [email protected] request the instrument.
