Listen to Phoebe Bridgers' devastating cover of the Handsome Family's "So Much Wine"

Phoebe Bridgers has released her first song since “Sidelines,” and it’s a Christmas classic. The solemn track is a cover of the Handsome Family’s 2000 song “So Much Wine.”

Bridgers has famously released a Christmas song every year since 2017, including covers of Tom Waits‘ “Day After Tomorrow,” Merle Haggard’s “If We Make It Through December” and Simon & Garfunkel‘s “7 O’Clock News/Silent Night,” among others.

The proceeds from her rendition of “So Much Wine” will go to the Los Angeles LGBT Center. Each year, the nonprofit aids thousands of LGBTQ+ people with vital services such as housing, legal assistance and healthcare.

The track was produced by Bridgers as well as longtime collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska. Marshall Vore, Harrison Whitford, Sebastian Steinberg, Paul Mescal and Andrew Bird all feature.

Bridgers appeared on the cover of Alternative Press’ March 2021 issue, which you can pick up here.
