I came across a ‘Vic’s voice is too damn high!’ meme. But the internet is full of comments like, ‘His voice is like a drug!’ or ‘He sounds like an angel!’

As far as the ridicule goes, I’ve gone through so much of it over the years, I kinda just do my thing and hope for personal satisfaction on it now, you know what I mean? I get it. I ridicule myself for the way that I used to sound. It’s hard for me to listen to older stuff sometimes because you always want your best foot forward. I met [Twisted Sister frontman] Dee Snider. His daughter is a fan. He’s like, ’Damn man, have you got any balls at all? That's crazy!' [Laughs.] He was just fucking with me. He was like, ‘Back in the day, I was the guy getting made fun of for singing higher.’ He was giving me a solid, like, “Keep it up!” It was fun to have Dee Snider talk shit on me in a loving way.
