PinkPantheress wins BBC Music’s Sound Of 2022 Poll
PinkPantheress has been announced as the winner of BBC Radio 1‘s Sound Of 2022. The label is afforded to one of the UK‘s most promising new musicians.
“I am so happy to be chosen for the BBC Sound Of 2022, to be put up against such amazing musicians has been an honour and I just hope that I fulfill the people’s expectations of me this year,” PinkPantheress says in a press release.

The Sound Of list began in 2003 with the goal of showcasing the most exciting rising stars in music. The musicians that appear on Sound Of are all hand-picked by a panel of industry experts from around the globe.
PinkPantheress released her debut mixtape to hell with it last year. Her songs quickly gained popularity on TikTok. Coldplay even covered her single, “Just For Me,” in Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Many of the artists that spoke to Alternative Press for December’s issue also acknowledged PinkPanteress as someone to watch in 2022.
