Earlier this week, the world of Pokémon got a new addition. Originally thought to be a strange type of Ditto, Pokémon players hypothesized that the new Pokémon could even be a glitch or promo for the forthcoming Nintendo Switch games Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s GO, Eevee!.

Thankfully, the gaming community finally got their peace of mind. The Pokémon Company has released a fun trailer announcing the new Pokémon. Check it out below!

According to the conversation between Professor Oak and Professor Willow, the two had never seen the Pokémon before. That is, until Professor Oak remembered he saw the Pokémon in “an ancient text” he once read. Upon pulling out the book and matching the pictures, the character confirmed the new Pokémon was, indeed, Meltan.

Meltan is said to be a Steel-Type Pokémon, according to the official Pokémon website. The “curious” Pokémon can generate its own electricity by absorbing metal from its surroundings and use said electricity as a method of attack.

We don’t know much else about the new Pokémon. However, the trailer says “to be continued…” hinting that Professor Oak may get back to us with a little more information soon.

Welcome to the world, little guy.
