Pop punks Waterparks to release debut full-length later this year
Houston pop punks Waterparks are in Los Angeles recording their debut full-length with Benji Madden (Good Charlotte, 5 Seconds of Summer) and Courtney Ballard (5 Seconds of Summer, All Time Low).

Madden and Ballard also produced the band's latest EP, Cluster. The new album is expected to be released in late 2016.
“We are making our first album right now. Holy shit. That's a real thing,” says frontman Awsten Knight. “We considered a lot of options regarding who we wanted to record the album with, but making Cluster was such a good experience that this easily made the most sense. We honestly don't trust anyone more than Courtney and Benji to help bring these songs to life. Plus they just bought Will Smith's studio where Rhianna and Justin Bieber have made some crazy albums so that's sick. No pressure, right?”
Over the past year, the band, who signed to Equal Vision Records, partnered with MDDN co., released a new EP and embarked on their first ever full US tour supporting Never Shout Never. They also premiered their live music video today for “Capes” on AltPress.com.
“This year we did our first tour ever, played a bunch of sick sold out shows with Good Charlotte, left the country for the first time ever to play festivals and headline our own show and landed the cover of AP when we don't even have an album out yet. What the fuck? I couldn't have imagined this year going anywhere even close to this,” Knight shares. “This time last year…we didn't have anything like this at all. Sorry to get all feelingsy, but we feel stupid lucky and we're super thankful for everything that's happened this year. I can't wait for y'all to hear the album.”
