Hear Poppy’s ultra-heavy cover of Kittie’s “Spit”
It’s a good day for metal fans. Poppy has shared an incredibly heavy cover of Kittie’s 1999 nü-metal banger “Spit.”
Just like the original version, Poppy unleashes a horrifying scream in its opening seconds, and she only ups the intensity from there. The Zakk Cervini-produced single follows her eerie song “Church Outfit,” which she dropped in April, and comes with a disorienting music video that suits the song’s industrial sound well.

Later this summer, Poppy will embark on a co-headlining tour with PVRIS. Launching Aug. 18 in Seattle, they’ll make stops in over a dozen cities before concluding the run Sept. 15. Special guests Tommy Genesis and Pom Pom Squad will join on select dates.
