In some cases, the cover of a popular song grows more popular than its original counterpart. Just look at Joan Jett. Many imagine “I Love Rock ’N Roll” as her and her band’s song, but it was originally released by the Arrows in 1975.

Machine Gun Kelly linked up with Travis Barker for a cover of Rage Against The Machine‘s “Killing In The Name” in reaction to the Black Lives Matter protests happening all over the country. 

The black-and-white video released June 4 shows footage of the duo recording the track spliced between shots composed from the ongoing protests in honor of George Floyd and fighting against police brutality.
