PVRIS and REZZ team up for haunting EDM collab "Sacrificial"—listen

After teasing their highly-anticipated collab earlier this week, PVRIS and DJ/producer REZZ have officially unleashed their haunting new EDM track “Sacrificial.”

“Sacrificial” is the latest collaboration to arrive from PVRIS’ Lynn Gunn over the past few months.

Back in October, PVRIS dropped the deluxe edition of their latest full-length album Use Me. The extended version not only features new remixes from Mija and Nicole Moudaber, but Gunn also reworked “Loveless” for a new Lynn Mix. As well, the deluxe album also includes PVRIS’ synth-pop collab with RAYE called “Thank You.”

Shortly after the release of Use Me (Deluxe), Gunn joined forces with Kat Cunning to remix “Supernova.” In November, Gunn exclusively told Alternative Press how the collaboration came to be and what inspired the new remix. Then, in December, PVRIS worked alongside Joywave and Now, Now for Coming Apart (Remixes). The 3-track EP features reworkings of Joywave’s 2020 song “Coming Apart” from both Now, Now and PVRIS.

Now, PVRIS are teaming up with Canadian DJ/producer REZZ for a brand new collaboration. On Friday, they debuted the haunting EDM track “Sacrificial” which is all about following your instincts even if the world is telling you otherwise.

”’Sacrificial’ is about risking it all for love,” Gunn says. “Even if the world around you is telling you it’s not right.”

For Rezz, Lynn’s vocals are what ultimately inspired the new collaboration.

“When PVRIS sent over the vocal I immediately had an idea for the song,” REZZ says. “I love her music, so I’m really glad we were able to make it happen.”

“Sacrificial” marks the first new track from REZZ in 2021 and her first collaboration with Lynn Gunn. From REZZ’s infectious EDM beats to Gunn’s hauntingly powerful vocals, “Sacrificial” is the perfect blend of both artists’ strengths and distinct artistry.

Along with PVRIS, REZZ has collaborated with a slew of other artists in the past. Back in 2019, REZZ worked with Underoath drummer Aaron Gillespie for “Falling.” As well, last April, REZZ and Grabbitz pondered identity issues in their video for “Someone Else.”
