Can you remember the lyrics to “Black Cat” by Mayday Parade?

There’s pretty much a holiday for anything you can think of and black cats are certainly no different. In honor of Black Cat Appreciation Day, we’re revisiting the Mayday Parade classic “Black Cat.”

Taken from their debut album A Lesson In Romantics, the track was released back in 2007. Can you remember all of the words?

More on Mayday Parade

Black Cat Appreciation Day isn’t the only time “Black Cat” deserves to be honored. Back in 2017, Mayday Parade were gearing up for a huge celebration of their timeless debut album, A Lesson In Romantics.

To kick off that celebration the right way, the band not only released a new music video for “Black Cat”—but also announced a special Anniversary Edition of the record.

Mayday Parade headed out on a massive—and we mean massive—10-year anniversary tour for the record, which kicked off in March 2017 in New Orleans and ended in May at the Orlando, Florida House of Blues. Knuckle Puck and Milestones provided support.

A Lesson In Romantics: Anniversary Edition dropped in March 2017 and with six previously unreleased demos, plus a new song. While the album is no longer up on their site, Mayday Parade do have some rad debut-inspired merch.

There’s a blanket, flag and collage poster inspired by the album cover. However, one of the coolest things to come from this cycle is definitely the literal umbrella exactly like the artwork. The umbrella inspo doesn’t stop there as there are some cool pins and a shirt as well. Mayday Parade also has vinyl available on black and clear with gold smoke pressings.

Since A Lesson In Romantics, Mayday Parade have released five more albums including Anywhere But Here in 2009, a self-titled in 2011, Monsters In The Closet in 2013 and Black Lines in 2015. Their most recent album, Sunnyland, dropped in June 2018. You can check it out here.
