More on the 1975

Fully entrenched in a new era, the 1975 recently dropped the first official single off upcoming Notes On A Conditional Form.

The band recently released a self-titled track featuring teen climate activist Greta Thunberg. However, “People” and its futuristic video showcasing a bit of a new aesthetic and sound is the first official single.

In addition to the new track, the band also confirmed Notes On A Conditional Form will drop February 21, 2020. The date was previously speculated after fans uncovered information suggesting this is when it would be released.

It’s definitely a step in a different direction for the band as frontman Matty Healy stated in an interview with ALT 94.9 around Coachella.

“It’s not like a where emo ended up sounding record like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy sounding record. There’s definite references to Joan Of Arc and Braid and Mineral… you hear a lot of that on No Rome’s new EP, it’s kind of like an emo record and I played drums on that and we were making that the same time we started Notes On A Conditional Form, so it does have this kind of like, Midwest kind of sound to it.”

The world is already buzzing about the message of the song. Check it out here.
