Stine, as you might recall when you were younger, is the mastermind behind the children’s horror book series, Goosebumps, and it appears that he’s not quite finished causing nightmares.

In a new interview with Medium, Stine discussed his lengthy career and when asked if he ever planned on putting up his briefcase, Stine revealed that he’s actually signed on to do six more Goosebumps books.

“I don’t think authors retire,” Stine said. “I think of Robert B. Parker, who just dropped dead on the keyboard. I think that’s the way to go. Anyway, I just signed on to do six more Goosebumps books.”

Stine then joked, “Maybe some of them will be posthumous, I don’t know.”

The scares will also be coming in movie form, as Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween will be hitting theaters just in time for everyone’s creepy holiday.

The film has had its ups and downs in the production process. With name changesrelease date pushbacks and more, that hasn’t stopped the creators of the children-friendly horror flick to get the movie in theaters.

While it did go through a name change, the premise of the film still appears to revolve around one of Stine’s creepy stories, and this time, it’s expected to feature one of Stine’s most terrifying villains: Slappy, the evil ventriloquist’s dummy.

Yep, the new film is slated to follow the ventriloquist’s dummy that gave us all nightmares, and as Backstage reports, Slappy is “hell-bent on jump-starting the Halloween apocalypse,” and the “three friends must stop the stuffed adversary before he ruins Halloween for good.”

We also know that the show is set to star Peyton Wich, who played one of the bullies in the first season of Stranger Things. Wich will also be joining Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben Hanscom in Stephen King’s It), Madison Iseman, Ben O’Brien and Caleel Harris in the upcoming flick. Jack Black will also be coming back to reprise his as R.L. Stine from the 2015 film.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween will arrive in theaters on Oct. 12. Check out the trailer for the film below.
