Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) signs book deal for memoir on manslaughter trial

Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe has signed a book deal with Da Capo Press for a currently untitled memoir.

The memoir will consist of his own account of the events of the past year of his life. This includes his arrest, incarceration, trial and acquittal for manslaughter following the incident at Lamb of God’s May 2010 Czech Republic show.

“While I've dreamed of being a published author almost since I began to read, I never imagined my first book would center around such a sad topic. Sometimes though, life unexpectedly provides you a story that needs to be told,” Blythe says. “I believe this one does (for several different reasons, not just for the benefit of myself), so I will tell it with the respect and dignity all involved deserve. This will be a good read, I promise you, and I hope some good comes of it.”

De Capo Press has released memoirs by other heavy metal artists such as Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Rex Brown (Pantera) and Al Jourgensen (Ministry).

The publishing company plans to release Blythe’s memoir in Spring 2014.
