Josh Homme featured on ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ soundtrack

The Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack features a contribution from Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme titled “Cruel, Cruel World.” Queens of the Stone Age drummer Jon Theodore is also featured on the video game‘s soundtrack in a different song.

“Cruel, Cruel World” is one of the many songs featured in the game. In addition to the Queens of the Stone Age members, the game also includes contributions from Willie Nelson, Colin Stetson and Arca.

According to Consequence of Sound, Daniel Lanois produced the vocals for the entirety of the album, including “Cruel, Cruel World.” Lanois also wrote the track.

In the game, “Cruel Cruel World” plays during the emotional ending credits. You can listen to Homme’s contribution below.

From Rockstar Games, the western game “follows the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.”

Released on Oct. 28 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Red Dead Redemption 2 serves as a prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption. The game is the third installment in the series.
