Post-hardcore originators Refused are getting ready to release their upcoming record War Music, but they’re offering a sneak peek at what’s to come with a new song “Blood Red.”

The arrival of “Blood Red” marks the first bit of new music from the band since their 2015 comeback album, Freedom, which was their first album in nearly 20 years.

The band shared a message on Instagram explaining the meaning behind the song, dedicating it to fans old and new who come out to see them perform.

“The first song we finished from our new record, first song we played live off of it, and now its the first song you’re gonna hear because it was truly inspired by you, our live audience, the old and the new, who come out and help us turn every venue into a boiling hot mess.”
