Path Of Resistance

Can’t Stop The Truth

[2/5] When the Earth Crisis side project Path Of Resistance debuted in 1997 with Who Dares Wins, the world was a much different place. Metalcore wasn’t all over commercial radio; being vegan was still radical; and most people thought XXX meant, well, porno. While musically, Can’t Stop The Truth stays predictably planted in the late-’90s Chokehold era of hardcore (chugged-out riffing, gang vocals, mosh-worthy breakdowns, etc.), much of the group’s lyrical content has inexplicably evolved from rants about straight-edge pride to the dangers of genetic bioengineering (“Promethean”) and hazily constructed conspiracy theories (“Occulted Hand”), all of it hinting at some type of grand, paranoia-induced “truth” that’s never defined. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the cover art…
